This April, we’re inviting little gardeners to get their hands dirty, creative, and growing with our fun and interactive children’s planting workshops at Flowerland. Designed especially in celebration of our newly opened Grow Club! For curious young minds, this session is all about learning through doing — painting, planting, and discovering how nature grows right in front of them.

What to Expect

This workshop is a relaxed, fun and hands-on experience where children can:

Paint their own plant pot
Learn how plants grow from tiny seeds and plugs
Plant their own vegetable to take home and grow
Get messy, creative, and confident in the garden

It’s all about making gardening fun and accessible — giving children the chance to understand where food and plants come from in a way that feels exciting, not educational in a classroom sense.

Why Gardening is So Valuable for Children

Getting kids involved in gardening has so many benefits beyond just planting a seed. It helps them:

  • Build confidence through hands-on learning
  • Develop patience as they watch their plants grow over time
  • Improve curiosity about nature and the environment
  • Enjoy calm, screen-free creative time outdoors or in the garden centre

Even something as simple as painting a pot or planting a small vegetable can spark a lifelong interest in nature.

Each child will leave with:

Their painted pot

A planted vegetable

The start of their very own growing journey

It’s a lovely way to bring a little piece of Flowerland home and continue the experience in the garden or on a windowsill.
