Celebrating National Insect Week with Our Bug Hotel Workshop

Celebrating National Insect Week with Our Bug Hotel Workshop

National Insect Week, taking place from 22nd–28th June, is a nationwide celebration dedicated to raising awareness of the incredible insects that share our gardens, parks, and countryside. It's the perfect opportunity to discover more about the bees, butterflies, ladybirds, hoverflies, and beetles that play such a vital role in keeping our gardens healthy and full of life.

Insects are some of nature's hardest workers. Around 75% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to reproduce, while many other insects help control pests, improve soil health, and provide food for birds and wildlife. Yet many insect species are facing challenges due to habitat loss and changing environments.

That's why National Insect Week is all about encouraging people to learn more about these fascinating creatures and take simple steps to support them.

One of the easiest ways to help is by creating safe spaces for insects to shelter, nest, and overwinter. That's exactly what our Children's Bug Hotel Workshop is all about.

As part of National Insect Week, we're inviting children and families to get hands-on and create their own bug hotels using recyclable materials such as cardboard, sticks, leaves, and more. They'll then be able to paint and decorate their creations before taking them home to place in the garden.

Not only is it a fun and creative activity, but it's also a wonderful way for children to learn about the importance of insects and how they can help support local wildlife from their own gardens.

It's the perfect way to celebrate National Insect Week while inspiring the next generation of gardeners, wildlife lovers, and environmental champions.

We'd love for you to join us as we celebrate the tiny creatures that make such a big difference to our gardens.
