Late Nite Art: A Creative Space for Midlife & Menopause

Late Nite Art: A Creative Space for Midlife & Menopause

Midlife can be a time of huge change. It can also be a time when connection, community and having a space to simply be yourself become more important than ever.

This is where Late Nite Art (LNA) comes in.

We’re welcoming Amy Brophy, a qualified Late Nite Art Creative Facilitator, for a special session adapted specifically for our midlife and menopause community.

This isn’t a talk, a lecture or a traditional discussion group. Instead, it’s a relaxed, creative experience designed to help people move from strangers to genuine connection through simple art activities, conversation and guided prompts.

7th & 14th of November

A Different Way to Connect

You won’t be expected to stand up and introduce yourself with your job title or give a long introduction. Instead, the session uses creativity as a way to get conversations started naturally.

You’ll take part in a series of activities designed to encourage openness, curiosity and connection, while exploring some of the experiences that come with midlife.

There’s no artistic ability required at all. The activities are intentionally simple, loose and imperfect — because the aim isn’t to create perfect artwork. It’s about taking part, having a go and connecting with the people around you.

What Will We Do?

The session lasts approximately 90–110 minutes and includes a mixture of creative activities and conversation.

You’ll begin with a visual conversation exercise, giving you a chance to meet the people around you without relying on the usual introductions.

From there, you’ll explore Neighbourhood Stories, sharing a personal story about what midlife looks and feels like for you.

The Board of Advisors activity gives you the opportunity to share a current challenge and hear thoughts and perspectives from the group.

You’ll also take part in Draw One Another, a playful blind contour drawing exercise. You’ll keep your eyes on your partner rather than your paper as you draw them, before adding three words to describe the person you’ve just met.

It’s deliberately imperfect, and that’s part of the fun.

The session finishes with a relaxed debrief and an opportunity to reflect on the connections and conversations you’ve made.

Meet Your Facilitator, Amy Brophy

Amy Brophy is a qualified Late Nite Art Creative Facilitator and Global Program Manager at Adobe. At 51, Amy is also experiencing menopause herself, meaning this work comes from both professional experience and lived experience.

After losing her mum to cancer five years ago, Amy experienced grief alongside the arrival of perimenopause. The experience highlighted just how isolating this stage of life can feel, even for women who have spent decades feeling capable, confident and in control.

Amy is passionate about the knowledge, experience and wisdom that women bring into midlife, while recognising that perimenopause and menopause can bring unexpected changes at a time when many women feel they should be at the height of their careers and lives.

Through Late Nite Art, Amy creates spaces where women can come together, be creative and build genuine connections.

No Art Skills Required

If the words “art workshop” make you think you need to be creative, don’t worry.

You really don’t.

All the art supplies will be provided, and the activities are designed for everyone — including people who haven’t picked up a pencil since school.

The focus is not on producing something perfect. It’s about using creativity as a way to communicate, have conversations and see the people around you in a different way.

Come Along and Connect

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, try something completely different, share your experiences or simply spend some time doing something creative, this is a chance to step away from the everyday and connect with others going through a similar stage of life.
